Shelly line of products
Pros Miniature size fits in existing electrical boxes
Supports multiple AC and DC power sources incl 110/220 V AC
Has pins for Tx, Rx, 3.3V, GND, GPIO0. Zumungo converts Tx and Rx to GPIO3 and GPIO1
Programming (flashing Zunumgo) not a problem using Tx, Rx, GDN, 3.3V and external USB to serial board such as FTDO232.
Enough memory for OTA (over the air) uploads and updates.
Relay is 16A as opposed to 10A of most competitors.
Cons More expensive than some other boards
High voltage at the board at all time if you choose to power from the main AC power supply at home.
Sonoff line of products
Pros AC powered from main 110/220 V AC
The cheapest of them all
Has pins for Tx, Rx, 3.3V, GND. Zumungo converts Tx and Rx to GPIO3 and GPIO1
Programming (flashing Zunumgo) not a problem using Tx, Rx, GDN, 3.3V and external USB to serial board such as FTDO232.
Cons Not enough memory for OTA (over the air) uploads and updates. Has only 1MB of memory.
High voltage at the board at all time if you choose to power from the main AC power supply at home.
LinkNode R4 and R8
Pros 5V DC power easy to get from USB adpters
Large number of relays 4 and 8 respectively
Has pins for Tx, Rx, 3.3V, GND, GPIO0. Zumungo converts Tx and Rx to GPIO3 and GPIO1
Programming (flashing Zunumgo) not a problem using Tx, Rx, GDN, 3.3V and external USB to serial board such as FTDO232.
Enough memory for OTA (over the air) uploads and updates.
Inexpensive on per relay basis
Cons Old fashioned barrel power connector as opposed to micro USB found elsewhere
Not enough pins to connect as many external sensors as competitors
Yunshan (and other names for the same)
Pros Small size
Flexible power from 7VDC to 30V DC
Has pins for Tx, Rx, GND, GPIO0 plus optically isolated GPIO05. Zumungo converts Tx and Rx to GPIO3 and GPIO1
Programming (flashing Zunumgo) not a problem using Tx, Rx, GDN, and external USB to serial board such as FTDO232.
Enough memory for OTA (over the air) uploads and updates.
Optically insulated input (the only board on our list that has it).
Cons Odd power supply voltages. Not accepting convenient USB +5V power supply.
One relay only.
Aptinex
Pros Powered by 5V DC
Has most GPIOs on pins than any other.
Has pins for Tx, Rx, GND, GPIO0 . Zumungo converts Tx and Rx to GPIO3 and GPIO1
Programming (flashing Zunumgo) not a problem using Tx, Rx, GDN, and external USB to serial board such as FTDO232.
Enough memory for OTA (over the air) uploads and updates.
Has 4 relays.
Cons More expensive than comparable boards.
Maybe hard to find in USA. Long time shipping from abroad.
